Not necessarily. If they intended to kill from the beginning, then they may have been immune to the forced sleep. After all, there were two killers, weren't there? I assume they couldn't have shared the goggles.

However, if they'd belonged to Four and there was any chance she'd used them, it would've made her circumstances odd. [aka the whole item thing. words are failing jan so hard right now.] It doesn't seem that was the case, however.
