[Kaoru's busy leaving the newly christened cat cafe, heading off to go do something or other when he stumbles upon North. He looks at her, not quite nodding his head in greeting before he pauses to look behind her.]

New friend? [North is being stalked by her new son. ]

[BLUNTLY, as her new son takes the opportunity to brush against her legs. As a cat does.]

Do you want it?

Absolutely not. It would be cruel to separate you from something that's obviously grown attached. What's wrong with it?

Why not? It's kind of cute, if you fluff its fur a little. It might make you less abrasive to approach.

I don't know. Does this look like the place to hold a bunch of strangers hostage? [He rolls his eyes. ] Some of us can appreciate anything to make this place less bearable and that includes things like this.

Yeah, and what's going to happen to the cats once someone decides to kill their owners? Or, worse— If someone decides it'd be funny to kill someone's pet, instead?. Don't be so selfish.

I'm being selfish by suggesting you take care of something that's trying to make a connection? [Boo.] I'd think people would prefer that something like a cat is taken care of for as long as it can even if it means losing that later.
