Boil you alive...?
[ he doesn't remember any place at the gateway that week that would do that... they must have been somewhere else, then. it would be really nice if the universe were a little more clear about these things.
oh well. moving on, then. he leans against the counter, frowning. ]
So how did you get back to the rest of the group?

[ well, that's dumb. ]
Then where did the... hands... come in?
Then where did the... hands... come in?
What were they doing? Just trying to hold you back?
[ maybe kara should consider living somewhere with a little less foot traffic. too late now - he's seated against a wall, cleaning his sword when north comes in. though he does look up briefly, he doesn't move and will continue his task as he speaks. ]
Looks that way.
Looks that way.
[ he sighs, but eventually he does look up to give the oracle bell a dubious glance. ]
Don't tell me Tsuru started messaging you, too.
[ why won't tsuru just let him live ]

[ oh. well, if that's all. ]
It's... not very clear.
[ but he'll dig his own oracle bell out of his pocket to show north - and definitely not show the ones sent from tsuru because kara might have to kill him a second time anyway, but the one from lili reads:
when -- remain thursday -- clear and Signs will -- death is what we have right now. im not giving up so dont forget about me. be nice to kao ]

Seems that way. This is all the new information I've gotten this week, though, so I don't know what that might be.
You probably already know.
[ kara thinks it was supposed to stay quiet, at least until they got more information. but it seems more people have heard about the situation than anticipated, and... he's never been one for secrets like this, anyway. ]
Supposedly, the corruption can't be defeated until only one of us remains, but the dead will have a chance to be revived, after that. There's not much more to it than that.

I thought it might be something like that.
[ he looks at north thoughtfully, as of wondering why she's bothering to ask. ]
They could throw everything into chaos, ruin the timelines and histories of our worlds. They could destroy all of our worlds entirely, leaving only some or none of them remaining. They could choose to revive only the people they want, and leave the rest for dead.
That's just the start. There are probably a million ways it could go wrong, if the wrong person is left to decide. But it seems like there isn't a lot we can do to choose that person, with the corruption taking hold.

[ he raises an eyebrow. ]
You mean killing all but one of us?
You mean killing all but one of us?
Supposedly.
[ if it's to be believed, at least. ]
The problem is that you don't know who's corrupted and who isn't. Kill all but one of us, without any way of finding that out first, and you might end up with someone corrupted deciding the fate of the universe. Is that really worth it to you?
[ besides which, kara doesn't think any of them are justified in playing god. he has no problem putting down the corrupted to purify them, or killing someone who's unjustly killed another, but not this. this wouldn't be a battle, it would just be slaughter. ]

Obviously. But immunity from corruption doesn't automatically make them a good choice, either.
[ just saying. ]
