[HELLO, KARA... Should the local sword population wander into the gateway, he'll eventually stumble across North while she's exploring the red light district. Specifically, she seems to have sequestered herself up in the room that's equipped with fortune telling items, sitting on the table and making her way through a book on onmyodo.
She'll offer him a nod as a way of greeting, curt, while flipping to another page in the book.]
[ Just like last time, Ookurikara is exploring each part of the gateway, trying to gauge what they're dealing with and if there's anything useful here they can take back. The difference is, he recognizes this - at least as Sengoku-era Japan, if not any of these specific locations. He's been taken to a courtesan house once or twice as a sword, but it's strange to see it so... empty, even if the voices try to fill the silence. He's almost bored by the whole place, until he finds a different room.
North is here, but he doesn't acknowledge her greeting or speak as he slowly walks in, taking in the items left out. Why fortune telling in a place like this? It's an odd choice, and makes him wonder what was going on, exactly. But he doesn't stop walking until he reaches the ouija board, which... doesn't fit in here, as far as he's concerned. Everything else makes sense, but - what is this? ]
[If he's fine with ignoring her greeting, then she's fine continuing her book without bothering with niceties. That doesn't stop her from glancing up every now and then as he moves around the room, careful to stay attentive of his position so she can't be startled later. When she notices he's stopped by the ouija board, though? She outright stares at him, slowly raising an eyebrow after a moment as if wondering what the heckie he's going to do.
[ Well. Since the ouija board doesn't seem to be forthcoming about what it is, he eventually turns to keep checking out the items here - but he stops when he notices North staring. Wasn't she busy reading? ]
[HEY, KARA. It won't be until a couple of hours later, but North will track him down until she finds him in the kitchen. Immediately getting to the point:]
That you woke up somewhere else, the darkness appeared when you played... something. [ he doesn't know what a cassette is supposed to be. ] There were puzzles you had to do to get back.
There was a native of that world who was corrupted by the darkness, and you found a way to cure him.
[Hi, Kara... North will be running into him in the armory, looking very much like she regrets being here and is in fact reconsidering her decision. It's after a beat that she speaks up.]
[ maybe kara should consider living somewhere with a little less foot traffic. too late now - he's seated against a wall, cleaning his sword when north comes in. though he does look up briefly, he doesn't move and will continue his task as he speaks. ]
[Though she doesn't sound too enthusiastic about it. It won't stop her from making her way over to where he's sitting, pulling out her oracle bell so she can hold it out to him. Please look up from your sword, Kara.]
Thank you. For being you. [looking very much like she wishes the earth would swallow her whole!] To be honest, I've always thought you were a dick. But you're blunt about your intentions and you don't mess around when there's shit that needs to be done. I respect that.
[ kara's finished cooking and is leaving the kitchen to head back to the armory for the night. he won't shy away from north when he sees her, but knowing how she feels about him? he doesn't immediately approach her.
but she has something he wants, so. he'll deal with it and head over. ]
Kaoru's notes - do you still have them? I'd like it back.
[She looks momentarily surprised by the fact that Kara's approaching her. That surprise morphs into understanding once he speaks up, and North nods while reaching into her pocket.]
Sure. All yours.
[Taking the notes out of her pocket to hold them out to him! A very close sketch of Mira and Val's footprints are still on the other side, of course.]
w2, monday.
