I thought it might be something like that.

[ he looks at north thoughtfully, as of wondering why she's bothering to ask. ]

They could throw everything into chaos, ruin the timelines and histories of our worlds. They could destroy all of our worlds entirely, leaving only some or none of them remaining. They could choose to revive only the people they want, and leave the rest for dead.

That's just the start. There are probably a million ways it could go wrong, if the wrong person is left to decide. But it seems like there isn't a lot we can do to choose that person, with the corruption taking hold.

[ he raises an eyebrow. ]

You mean killing all but one of us?

Supposedly.

[ if it's to be believed, at least. ]

The problem is that you don't know who's corrupted and who isn't. Kill all but one of us, without any way of finding that out first, and you might end up with someone corrupted deciding the fate of the universe. Is that really worth it to you?

[ besides which, kara doesn't think any of them are justified in playing god. he has no problem putting down the corrupted to purify them, or killing someone who's unjustly killed another, but not this. this wouldn't be a battle, it would just be slaughter. ]

Obviously. But immunity from corruption doesn't automatically make them a good choice, either.

[ just saying. ]

Right.

Is there a point to this? I don't have much use for hypotheticals like this.
